University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s Living With Fire Program in partnership with Nevada Division of Forestry’s Fire Adapted Communities presented the Nevada Network of Fire Adapted Communities (NNFAC) Summit on December 3, 2020.. The theme for the summit was “Creating the Toolbox for a Fire Adapted Nevada.”
Morning Workshop: "Navigating Your Fire Adaptation Journey: How to combine tools and resources from national partners to support your work"
Participants learned how fire adaptation programs can be used together to benefit their community’s wildfire risk reduction efforts. This workshop provides an overview of some of the established national programs designed to assist local communities with wildfire preparedness, including the Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) Program, Firewise USA®, Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network (FAC Net) and will feature stories from practitioners about how they’ve used these programs and resources in their communities.
